Computer languages have come a long way since their early days. The average computer programmer may not recognize assembly language code when he looks at it. He seldom needs to code in Assembly. The language used by machines is certainly not the language of the web. Web programming has evolved as well. The earliest language was use to describe the layout of the page. Scripting languages evolved to carryout different tasks today. The important programming languages of the web today are HTML, CSS, Javascript, CSS, PhP, SQL and Jquery Slider.
HTML is the oldest language used on the World Wide Web. It does little more than describe how the page looks. A user can perform a few more complex functions such as generating forms using the language, but it is not well-suited to this task. CSS is often used with HTML to generate the pages most people see today.
Javascript came a little bit later. Javascript allows for communications between a sever and a web browser. Many of the games use the flash graphic format and Javascript to interpret the commands. It is a robust language that is similar to Java, but it is not used for many web-based applications. Java is a difficult programming language to master, and many people have little love for Javascript, even if the languages are not the same.
PhP and SQL often work together. The SQL language is used to generate the databases that run mot modern software. Every time a user encounters a content management system is probably seeing a system that uses HTML, CSS, PhP and SQL combined. The software generates the pages that the user sees rather than having a single static HTML file. Jquery slider is simply one method of using SQL. There are system administrators who swear by Jquery slider, but the software has its detractors as well.
The pros and cons of Jquery slider are well beyond the scope of this discussion. The program simplifies the task of the programmer. The reason it simplifies the task of the programmer was that programmers wrote the software that lets the user write the language, but they did not design the interface. Anyone who has encountered Java can see a really good reason why an individual should never let a programmer decide to simplify anything.
